Memorial Day Poem

          Memorial Day
Is it enough to think this day
Of the past brave, then put the                                                                                                               Thought away a year gone by?                                                                                                                            Is that full honor for those dead?
Is it enough to parade in parks?
Put flowers on the graves, a year long
Forget the brave, who died to                                                                                                                      Keep our county proud and free?

Their service needs a greater deed!
We who live should give to thought
Of appreciation for the land they died to save,
And in turn, be the brave.
