Doug
Allen's Snow Blower
Date 1975
One fine afternoon, I was sitting in a sun
porch, next to best friend an Ogden artist by the name of Doug Allen, an “Outdoor
Big game" western artist. He was with oil paint brush in hand, putting the
final touches on a large canvas featuring a bull elk. He said,
"Winter is coming and I
will need a snow blower to remove the snow from my long driveway. Tomorrow I will mail in an entry to the
"Zorro Snow Blower Contest" The winner will receive a free top of the
line Zorro blower. I’ll probably win the contest."
Sure
enough Doug did win the contest. Three weeks later out of thousands of contestants
he was notified he won the snow blower.
RULES OF THE CONTEST
In 30 words or less why you should buy a Zorro
snow blower.
How
did he do it?
He drew twelve small square pictures
on an 8”X10 ½ piece of white paper. The first one top left of the page a car leaving
skid marks sliding backwards out of control down a drive way. And so on such as
a little girl falling on an icy side walk.
