Hi everyone,
I cannot tell
you how much I enjoyed seeing all you folks again and having my spirits lifted
by our reunion. I only hope each and
every one of you, after putting up with me, enjoyed yourselves half as
much. Special thanks go to those who
came from out of state for their efforts to make this reunion such a
success. Though the time passed way too
quickly, you all were tremendous, and I believe a good time was had by
everyone.
So far I have
received nice photos from Steve Martin, Packey Green, and those taken on my
iPhone but am still waiting for some others of you to email me your shots as I
wish to see all the pictures that were taken so as to be sure to send out to
all the very best ones. Please send
them soon. If you can't email them, you
may snail mail your best hard copies to me at 519 Sawgrass Lane, Hampshire, IL
60140.
On the
financial side we did pretty good. My
estimate of the final cost was a few bucks high so we saved a little cash
there. That, combined with the extra money given by the attendees, will allow
about a $613.00 donation to the school because of the tremendous support they
gave us in this reunion effort. When I
contacted the alumni office and reported this, the lady I dealt with seemed
overwhelmed with our offer and, when asked how to direct the donation,
suggested we route it to the Medical Center ministries office. She asked for the names of the donors who
attended the reunion, and wants one of the photos for using later on in an
alumni publication. (Don't worry, I
will not give out your other contact info in an attempt to avoid further
requests for donations.)
Guys, I was
never prouder to be a member of the 1963 graduating class.
Lou
