GOD MADE A LITTLE GIRL FOR MAMA
Mama needs a little girl For many, many things, Like holding her high Where the sunlight sings, Like saying in comforting voice all is right When she awakens in frantic dreams of night.
Like being a great guide that raises a heart, And tells her how to get home When everything else falls apart. For giving her love that is her air, For diving deep or soaring high She can be near.
God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, And put her on her knee.
The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle’s flight, The joy of morning in the spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, And put her on my knee.
That’s why God makes little girls The depth of Mama’s needs, When there was nothing more to add, His masterpiece complete, God put a little girl On Mama’s knee.
